Statistics say breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, exceeded only by lung cancer. Breast cancer is the disease many women fear most… early detection is the best form of prevention! The Auburn Trader and the sponsoring businesses listed below encourage every woman, 40 years of age or older, to schedule a screening mammogram. St Josephs’ Mobile Mammography Program offers screening mammograms to women with or without insurance. Women who are uninsured or underinsured may qualify under the Every Woman Counts Cancer Detection Program, and may receive free services. Those who may not qualify under the program are offered a reduced fee for services with an order from a physician. Women with insurance can also be seen with an order from their physicain. The programs goal is to reach out to all women and break down the barriers they may face.
